Tower Hamlets Speaker's Fundraising Dinner supporting the Tower Project
As the Speaker's chosen charity this year, First Start our Autism Day Service was the central focus of this year's Speaker's Charity Dinner. A fundraising event to raise funds and awareness of the work provided by First Start, who are based on the Isle of Dogs.
The evening was supported by local MP's, the Mayor Lutfur Rahman and his colleagues from Tower Hamlets.
The event was held at The Atrium, based in the heart of East London and hosted by MC Alim Kamara from Storie Storie; a UK based organisation that he set up to inspire though engaging storytelling workshops and performances based on Sierra-Leonon folk tales. You can read more about the organisation here: www.storiestorie.com.
The Tower Project were represented by staff and clients on the day, including CEO Gerald O'Shaughnessy and First Start Service Manager Belinda Foster.
After a fantastic dinner, there was a raffle and auction to raise funds for the Tower Project. Prizes included a VIP Dinner, luxury hamper, a Rome and Mallorca getaway plus a Chef's Table Experience at Marcus Wareing for x10 people!
We would like to truly thank everyone for such a wonderful evening... thank you to everyone that donated, thank you to the community and organisations that attended, thank you to the caters, the MC on the night and special thanks to Speaker of Tower Hamlets Cllr Shafi Ahmed. We are truly humbled and look forward to using these vital funds to improve the lives of people with Autism and disabilities in the Tower Hamlets.
