Forest wildfire

We are pleased to report that another Tower Project Day Service user has successfully progressed into paid employment with the support of our award winning Job, Enterprise and Training Service (JET).

Through a new employment programme operated by JET and supported by the Forbes Charitable Foundation, Emen has made the leap from attending New Dawn Day Service to developing a new career working at the Felix Project a charity that distributes surplus food to schools, charities and foodbanks.

The work of the Felix Project regularly features on National TV and Emen’s job in the Distribution Team, plays a vital role in ensuring that in these challenging times, Londoners in need have access to healthy food.

Whilst working at the Felix Project, Emen has benefitted from in-work support provided by JET Job Coaches and has also undertaken a range of vocational training courses as part of JET’s Employment Skills offer.

Emen is one of over 55 people with learning disabilities that JET progresses into paid work each year and demonstrates Tower Project’s commitment to supporting the London Borough of Tower Hamlet’s strategy of enabling all people with learning disabilities who want a job to be supported to progress into paid employment.

With a positive job market, JET is looking to maximise the number of people it supports into work this year and anyone seeking to access the JET Service can do so by contacting jet@towerproject.org.uk
